The opening round of the British Carp Angling Championship was held at DDAPS Brooklands over the weekend of the 9th to the 11th of April. The event was held earlier this year than previous years and the result was a winning of just under 130lbs by experienced pair of Rob Tough and Tom Duncan Dunlop. Seven fish made up the weight with a two fish weight of 50 lb 11 oz securing the runners up spot for Dan Moorecroft and Colin Gray and a three fish weight of 45lb 6 oz for third place team of Steve Gee and Colin Heywood. The organisers were delighted by the way the venue fished and the winning weights which are a tribute to DDAPS continuing management of this top class day ticket water. Thanks to Poacher Baits for sponsoring the event and to all the members who helped with the organisation.

DDAPS would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused whilst we close off the banjo in Sutton's small lake. The reasons for this work is to create a stock / dads and lads / match pond, where we can bring on smaller fish to specimen size before transferring them to our main lakes.

The netting of the Western lake was carried out recently when 9 double figure carp to 12-14 where moved into Viaduct lake along with a few bream and 1000's of small roach. 22 pike to around 6lb were also removed.
The reason for the netting was to reduce the bio mass of fish so we can restock with fresh bloodlines.
