This year’s match had another good turn out with 28 anglers taking part. After a very hot week and a sad lack of rain, the water level was well down and the marginal weed was going to cause a problem in some swims. The Saturday evening BBQ was also a good time to catch up with each other anglers, have a couple of beers and a few laughs along the way. After a slow start with only a few fish out in the first twenty four hours, with a short sharp shower during the BBQ and a drop in air temperature the fish went on the feed all the way to the whistle. A late 27-6 mirror put Rob Dunk in the lead and a weeded 18 lb common finally came free with 5 minutes to go.
