Fishers Pool

As part of the ecological report that we had to have done to get a change of use by Tonbridge and Malling council, part of which insisted on a junior lake being dug. This lake, although only small will be another feather in the society’s cap as it’s the first one we have planned and dug ourselves. It has been named after a long-standing member of the committee who sadly passed away earlier this year and as Mick Fisher was the first member to catch a carp from the main lake we thought it only fitting to call the new one Fishers Pool.

Once it has filled with water we will plant up with reeds, rushes and iris, then at a later date it will be stocked by VS fisheries and our fisheries officer will decide what other species are needed to keep a balance for the future. There will only be around 10 swims so it will be a more intimate lake once the bankside vegetation grows up.

We are trying to get some drone footage of the lake and a map will follow but for now I have taken these photos of the lake bed before it fills up for future reference.
