DDAPS Fishing Fun Day 2026 – A Fantastic Day at Horton Kirby Lakes
The DDAPS Fishing Fun Day, held on 12th July at Horton Kirby Lakes, was another outstanding success, bringing together 385 young anglers for a memorable day by the water.
The event saw plenty of fish caught throughout the day, with smiles all round as children of all ages enjoyed the opportunity to learn, fish, and create lasting memories. It was fantastic to see so many families taking part and experiencing the joy of angling in such a welcoming environment.

A huge thank you goes to our incredible team of volunteers, whose hard work and dedication made the day run so smoothly. Events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without their time and enthusiasm.
Special thanks also to The Tackle Box for their continued support and generosity in sponsoring the event and providing all the fishing equipment and bait. Their kindness didn’t stop there—they also allowed every child to take their fishing equipment home at the end of the day, giving them the chance to continue enjoying our wonderful sport.
