On Sunday many families enjoyed a great day at DDAPS Horton Kirby for the DDAPS kid’s fun day. The lakes were packed with kids and their parents, many enjoying their 1st angling experience. Estimates put the number of kids at 250 but we would suggest that there were more than that. Also in attendance were the Kent Police, the Environment Agency and representatives of the big local angling shops. DDAPS would like to thank both The Tackle Box and Mark 2 Angling for all the support they provided on the day. Very few, if any, went away without at least one piece of free angling kit as well as some very useful information from the Environment Agency. The kids watched demonstrations from qualified coaches and from experienced DDAPS anglers on many facets of angling and watched fish being caught. Many of the kids then went onto catch fish of their own with very few returning empty landing nets. There was a small match for the kids plus many raffle prizes. All in all a very successful day, very well organised by all at DDAPS and a huge pat on the back for all concerned. If some of those kids become regular, keen and enthusiastic anglers then the day is well worthwhile.

Many thanks to our kind sponsors
